Madalitso was born in Kitwe, Zambia. He started playing golf at the age of 6. In 1996 and 1998 he played in the World Junior Championships and finished 5th Worldwide and 1st countries outside Europe both years. He was also awarded the best sportman award for the tournament. He won the junior sportsman of the year 1997 and won both Zambia junior sportsman of the year and sportsman of the year awards 1998 with Kalusha Bwalya, Samuel Matete and Amon Simutowe as fellow nominees.
